"If your religion doesn't grow corn, I don't want to hear about it."
Sun Bear
I love this quote, but I'm not sure it's real anymore.
I lean more and more toward it being not real every year because I cannot find a source for it now.
I found it on a blog years ago, the author said he saw it on a bumper sticker. I ended up getting to know him on Instagram so I believe he saw it, but bumper stickers are not the most reliable sources.
Bumper stickers are the pre-internet version of the comment section, now that I think of it. I miss the days when people could only share their terrible takes on their cars.
If you google this quote now, you will find that original blog, someone referencing that blog, and then my blog. I remember finding an article or two that talked about the quote, but those are lost to time.
Anyway, real or fake, I like it.
It's one of my favorites, and it's the first thing I think of when someone is telling me about their philosophy of life or giving me advice: are they growing corn?
Let's rephrase it:
If the observable consequences of your philosophy are not good, I do not want to hear about it.
