I have to work not to turn everything into a thing. I used to take pride in how I could make mountains out of molehills. My friends thought it was funny to get me rating about things when I was drunk. I was good at talking shit, and I let it become part of my personality.
That's not the way we want to be. It may be fun or funny in the moment, but over time, it hardens into a sort of bitterness that no one wants to be around. Turning everything into a thing is a hard habit to break once you start because our minds are predisposed to it in many ways.
