There is something inherently human about being dramatic. We like to turn the things that happen into stories, and we like getting attention from other members of our species. This is all natural and normal and, to some extent, probably necessary. We are a narrative species; we are a social species. The stories we tell ourselves matter, and attention from others matters.
There is a certain kind of dishonesty in drama, though.
When we get down to it, drama is really the facts of a situation with thoughts and feelings about those facts layered on top.
