March 2023: Take Responsibility
I've decided to use the rest of the year to take a deep dive into the essential character traits we need to cultivate if we want to have a good life. That will start in April. In March, I wanted to talk about the most important aspect of having a good life: the ability to take responsibility.
Here are the topics for this month's posts:
The difference between responsibility and fault
How responsibility gives us control, and control allows for some degree of freedom
The irrelevance of excuses
How none of us are so special that we can escape the consequences of irresponsibility
The book The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck
My own lack of responsibility, past and present, and the consequences of it
So, there will be 6 posts this month, and I'm excited about all of them. I think that the idea that responsibility and fault are not the same things is especially important, as is a recognition that taking responsibility is the best way to have some control over our lives and that we can then use that control over our lives to have more and more freedom.
